Privacy Policy

1. Overview

AiChat is a client-side web application. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what we never do. Your privacy is not an afterthought — it is the foundation this app is built on.

2. Information We Collect

AiChat collects only the minimum information required to operate:

  • Google Account Profile — When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. This is used solely for authentication and identifying your personal conversation history.
  • Conversation History — Your chat threads are saved to Firebase Firestore under your Google account UID. No one else can access your conversations.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect, store, or have access to your API keys.
  • We do not proxy, log, or intercept your messages to AI providers.
  • We do not sell, share, or monetize any user data.
  • We do not use analytics or tracking scripts.

4. API Keys

Your API keys for Google Gemini, OpenAI, and Anthropic are stored exclusively in your browser's localStorage. They are never transmitted to our servers — every AI request is made directly from your browser to the respective AI provider. AiChat never sees these keys.

5. Data Usage

Your Google profile information (name, email, picture) is used exclusively to:

  • Authenticate your session via Firebase Authentication.
  • Display your name and avatar in the sidebar.
  • Associate your conversation history with your account in Firestore.

We do not use this information for marketing, advertising, or profiling.

6. Data Security

All authentication and data storage is handled by Google Firebase, which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We do not operate our own backend servers that store personal data. Your Firestore data is protected by Firebase Security Rules that allow only your own UID to read or write your conversations.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your conversation history persists in Firestore until you delete it manually (via the sidebar) or request account deletion. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us at connect@ibini.app from the email address linked to your account.

API keys and UI preferences stored in localStorage are deleted instantly when you clear your browser's site data.

8. Third-Party Services

AiChat integrates with the following external services when you use them:

  • Google Firebase — Authentication and Firestore database. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Google Gemini API — Messages sent directly from your browser. Governed by Google's API Terms.
  • OpenAI API — Messages sent directly from your browser. Governed by OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • Anthropic API — Messages sent directly from your browser. Governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be noted with a new "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of AiChat after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
